Usually, adult and senior dogs are available for adoption. It’s difficult to find a homeless puppy, because owners have no problems with these cute creatures. Adult dogs tend to develop behavior problems if not provided with proper training and socialization since the early age. Not all dogs are surrendered because of behavior problems; there are also well-behaved dogs, abandoned due to financial or personal problems of their owners. Such dogs make excellent first time pets for novice owners who cannot train and socialize a puppy.

There are many dogs that are in need of new owners and homes. There are many reasons why the animals become abandoned by their owners. Dogs are given up to shelters by their owners due to different reasons. These are very active dogs so they need a lot of training, walking and exercises. Thus, games of retrieval are a good way to distract them and give them exercise when in a fenced yard. They cannot be left alone for a long period of time as they are very people oriented.
